THE BANK GALLERY WILL BE SHOWING TWO SHORT FILMS NEXT TUESDAY AFTERNOON WITH AN ART THEME.

DAVID HOCKNEY’S  DOUBLE PORTRAITS  COVERS A YEAR DURING WHICH HE PAINTED SEVERAL DOUBLE PORTRAITS OF FRIENDS –  ALL COMPLETED AT ONE SITTING USING WATERCOLOURS –THE NOTORIOUSLY DIFFICULT MEDIUM.

THE SECOND FILM IS A FEATURE ON THE CREATION OF SALVADOR DALI’S ST JOHN OF THE CROSS, AN UNLIKELY SUBJECT FOR A PRACTISING ATHEIST, BUT ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT RELIGIOUS PAINTINGS OF THE 20TH CENTURY.
